Where it is
General Luna is a municipality on the south-east side of Siargao Island, in the province of Surigao del Norte. Locals and returning visitors usually just call it “GL”. It is where most of the island’s accommodation, restaurants and surf schools are concentrated, which is why the majority of arrivals head straight here from the airport.
Getting there
Almost everyone arrives one of two ways: by air into Sayak Airport (IAO) in Del Carmen, or by sea into Dapa, the island’s main seaport, on a ferry from Surigao City. Both are on the far side of the island from General Luna, so a road transfer is part of the journey either way.
