Magpupungko Rock Pools transfers

Natural tidal rock pools on the east coast at Pilar, only fully visible when the tide is out.

Where it is

Magpupungko is a beach and rock formation in the municipality of Pilar, on the eastern side of Siargao Island. It is Pilar’s best-known tourist attraction, a natural feature carved out of the shoreline by the sea.

It only works at low tide

The pools are tidal: at high tide the rocks sit under open sea, and the calm, clear pools only appear once the water recedes. That makes Magpupungko one of the few trips on the island where the tide, not the clock, decides your start time. Tell us your date when you request a quote and we will time the pickup to that day’s low tide rather than a fixed hour.

Getting there

Pilar is on the opposite side of Siargao from General Luna, where most visitors stay, so this is a road transfer across the island. We quote it as a there-and-back trip with waiting time, or combined with other stops along the way if you would rather make a day of it.

No published price — and that is deliberate

A fair price depends on your date, your group, your bags and how long we wait. So we quote per trip instead of publishing a number we would have to hedge. Fill in the form below and we will send a fixed, all-in price by email.
