Sayak Airport (IAO), Del Carmen
Sayak Airport — IATA code IAO, ICAO code RPNS — is the main airport serving Siargao Island, and is just as often listed as Siargao Airport. It sits in the municipality of Del Carmen, on the island’s west side. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines designates it a Class 2 principal, or minor domestic, airport: there are no scheduled international arrivals, so a trip from overseas connects through a Philippine hub first. Its single runway is short enough that the aircraft serving it are turboprops rather than jets — we do not publish a length, because the sources we can check disagree on it.
There is no direct flight from Manila NAIA
This is the most common planning mistake for Siargao, and it is a recent one: Cebu Pacific moved its Siargao flights from Manila to Clark in early 2025, and Philippine Airlines now sells Clark–Siargao itineraries on its own booking site. The nonstop that older guides and out-of-date articles still describe does not run. The airports that do have nonstops into Sayak are Cebu, Clark and Davao — flown between them by Cebgo (Cebu Pacific), PAL Express and Sunlight Air — and a “Manila to Siargao” fare shown by a booking site is a connection, not a nonstop. Cebu is the busiest of the three by a wide margin, which is the practical reason to prefer it: several carriers fly it daily, so a flight cancelled for weather has something to rebook onto, where Clark and Davao run only a few departures a day between them. Carriers and routes here have changed more than once in two years, so confirm yours with the airline rather than any reprinted list, this page included.
The airport is only the first leg
Landing at Sayak gets you onto the island, not to where you are staying. Most accommodation is further on in General Luna or up the north end in places such as Pacifico, Burgos and Santa Monica, so the road transfer after the flight is part of the journey.
